The perennial European goldenrod is a dye and medicinal plant and is used for kidney and bladder problems due to its diuretic properties. An insect magnet that thrives easily under all conditions in Europe. Ideal for direct sowing, no pot culture, sowing spring-autumn, good for mixed culture, harvesting the flowers and leaves.

 Description
The European goldenrod is a perennial dye and medicinal plant that has been used since ancient times and is the only wild form that originally occurs in Europe. It thrives easily in all soils and temperatures and can also cope with drought. Goldenrod usually grows on the edges of paths and forests, in light forests or in meadows. This species is easy to establish in the garden and is a wonderful pasture for bees and magically attracts insects. Since the goldenrod has a strong diuretic effect, it is often a component of medicinal teas and is used for kidney and bladder problems. In naturopathy, the entire flowering goldenrod herb is used.

We recommend direct sowing from March to May or in autumn from September to October. The plants should ideally be planted in a sunny location.
Moderate climate (e. g. B. Germany, Switzerland, Poland)
Direct sowing from April to June is recommended. The plants should ideally be planted in a sunny location.

 General recommendations
Direct sowing is recommended. Direct sowing should be treated with particular care as it may dry out or be carried away by small animals such as ants. After germination, thin out the plants to the specified plant spacing.
European goldenrod does not tolerate waterlogging.

 Additional tips
Germinates irregularly by nature. In order to quickly obtain a fine, crumbly and permeable soil with good nutrient and water storage capacity, additional incorporation of biochar and primary rock flour is recommended.

Propagation occurs via seeds.
