 Description
Kohlrabi ‘Lanro’ is a biennial, historical and fast-growing outdoor variety from Germany. The robust white-green variety forms flat-round tubers that do not become woody. The winter-hardy and heat-tolerant kohlrabi develops robust plants and has a very long harvest period. Suitable for year-round cultivation in Europe. The tubers reach a weight of approx. 700g and are slightly sweet, juicy and nutty. Due to the short cultivation period of only 60 days, it is ideal for self-sufficiency and mixed cultivation.

 Sowing by climate zone
Subtropic climate (Mediterranean) (e. g. B. Portugal, Spain, Italy)
Pre-cultivation from January to November is recommended. Ideally, the plants should be planted in a sunny location.
Moderate climate (e. g. B. Germany, Switzerland, Poland)
Pre-cultivation from February to September is recommended. Ideally, the plants should be planted in a sunny location.

 General recommendations
Pre-cultivation with subsequent planting out with the specified plant spacing is recommended. For pre-cultivation, sow the seeds in a small bowl and allow the seedlings to grow until the first visible cabbage leaves appear, then prick out into the desired container. After pricking out, allow the seedlings to grow at moderate temperatures until they are planted out as seedlings. The seedlings should be planted in the bed from the 2nd pair of leaves after the cotyledons.
Kohlrabi ‘Lanro’ does not tolerate waterlogging.

 Additional tips
Evenly moist soil prevents the tubers from bursting. To prevent cabbage fly eggs from being laid, we recommend the use of vegetable protection nets. In order to quickly obtain a fine, crumbly and permeable soil with good nutrient and water storage capacity, we recommend additionally incorporating biochar and primary rock flour.

 Type of propagation
Propagation occurs via seeds.

 Plant care
Loosened, nutrient-rich and moist soil is essential. No fertilisation necessary.
